Campus Disciplinary Rules for Students
Given the significant influence of campus life on shaping a student's personality across academic and social spheres, it necessitates adherence to a framework of values, traditions, and behavioral norms. These are essential for fulfilling the university's foundational objectives. Central to this framework are discipline, responsibility, and respect for the established policies and regulations at Sultan Qaboos University.
Accordingly, I fully understand and acknowledge the abovementioned statement and the stipulations outlined in the clauses below in their entirety and detail. I hereby commit to adhere to the following:
20. Committing to adhering to the university's rules and regulations on campus, whether in lectures, exams, activities, and events, or when representing the university in field training or participating in activities and events, as well as when utilizing all the university’s facilities and services provided therein.
In fulfillment of the aforementioned, I hereby pledge my commitment to abide by all provisions of the Student Discipline Regulations, as well as all instructions, directives, and decisions currently issued or to be issued in the future by SQU to regulate university life. Should I commit any act that contradicts this commitment, whether explicitly or implicitly, I hereby declare my complete acceptance of any punitive or disciplinary action taken against me.
I also understand that it is my responsibility to familiarize myself with the university's academic system, including the Academic Probation System. This system stipulates that a student who is placed under academic probation and fails to meet the requirements to exit this status within the specified legal period shall withdraw from the university. Furthermore, I am fully responsible for informing my guardian about my academic status.
Sultan Qaboos University is committed to maintaining confidentiality of student academic information. Academic information that may be disclosed may include, but not limited to, academic transcript, attendance record, academic probation, and issues that could lead to expulsion from the university
Parents/guardians/sponsors of students who face academic issues preventing them from re-registering or continuing their studies will be notified without a prior permission from the student
I, the student, grant Sultan Qaboos University, represented by the Deanship of Admissions and Registration, permission to disclose my university academic information to my guardian registered with them
